How much UK tax do you pay then AOI? Or does it all go to the French exchequer like mine?

I'd probably do the same if I earned as much as him, but let's call a spade a spade, he's a tax dodger and so is Button then

Jenson Button has lived in Monaco and Guernsey for the last decade or so but no-one ever pulls him up on being a tax exile for some reason, despite it always being used as something to take Hamilton to task over.

I don't understand how Hamilton can be called a tax dodger. He lives abroad and pays tax in the country that is his domicile.

In a 'sport' that is full of egotistic gits, Hamilton takes the prize of the top cunt, along with Vettel. He's no doubt he's a very good driver - but who cares.
But there's something about this massive tax dodger that makes my skin crawl, and it's not just his oh so phoney patriotism. It wouldn't surprise me if one day we discovered that he's a bit of a perv of some kind. He just looks like a wrong 'un to me.
Anyway, the only reason I sometimes watch F1 is to see a decent shunt, but that rarely happens now.

This negative feeling probably:
'the bloke is a cunt who deserves any negativity he gets'
Just because he missed driving a car round London and spouts of at the press sometimes in response to criticism? If doing his own thing (ok'd by his boss) helped him fucking wipe the floor with everyone at the GP then he did what was right. I don't really think that's all that bad. I reckon those there at Silverstone rushing the track at the end didn't give a shit about the silly Trafalgar Square publicity stunt which is just aimed at taking the race away from where it belongs.
hangs about in the states a lot with celebrities and has a bit of a transatlantic accent. I can see how that might rub a few people the wrong way, but he's a proper working class kid from a dump of a town who made it to the very top on raw talent, hard work, and sacrifice. I think his dad had to work about three jobs in order to make ends meet.
Anyway, I get the feeling we're not going to agree on this one!

Jim Clark's case is definitely helped by the fact he died so young as such a great driver. Undoubtedly he was well liked, but death just makes you a legend.
Loads of people didn't like Senna when he was alive, but now you hardly hear a bad word about him from anyone! Jackie Stewart for example has done a complete 180 on his opinion of him, as has Mansell.

Re: Lewis Hamilton

what negative feeling does he get that you keep going on about? I don't see why he keeps bringing up the press, if he hangs about with high profile pop singers he's going to get attention. in the interview with coulthard shown yesterday he again had a pop at the press/media, yet then follows up with 'I have nothing to hide'. and why was being at a beach party with a load of hangers on more important than attending a PR event for your own grand prix? the bloke is a cunt who deserves any negativity he gets, but I agree he's a great driver

Scorch, you will never get 100% universal likeability but those 3 I mentioned were largely well liked especially Jim Clark

Re: Lewis Hamilton

No doubting his talent, a brilliant driver, but he's simply not likeable.
I don't like people or teams purely because they're good, or I'd be supporting Arsenal or Chelsea!
I mean Phil Taylor was fucking superb, but I still want him to take the odd stray dart in the face, the ugly, fat, northern nonce.

I think time passing makes people fonder. I doubt many of us were around when they were actually racing, but I expect they weren't universally loved then if the British public was the same as they have been in the last 20-30 years.
In 20-30 years time most people will probably be misty eyed about Hamilton just like they now are about Mansell, despite all the grief he got at the time for being boring and a bottler and despite many people's negative feeling toward Hamilton these days.
Not even Button was universally liked, and he seems like a fucking great bloke. (Despite obviously being a tax exile as well, and some of the other things people moan about Hamilton for being)
